NYC Citizen Radon Test Ends March 12th

Last, winter, Sane Energy Project organized the first ever Citizen's Radon Testing Program. Why do we need to test? Because fracked gas from the Marcellus could bring radon right to our apartment stoves, putting the entire city at risk for a major health hazard. Read why here.
Last year, we established a baseline reading. This year we'll compare the readings and see if anything has changed, and we'll continue to track levels in coming years.  Read more about the program here.
Do you qualify to take the test? You must: Live in the 5 boroughs; cook with a gas stove; follow the instructions carefully; be willing to keep your windows closed for at least 3 days. This program is not for testing basements or homes outside of the 5 boroughs.
Only a few test kits remain. Please sign up ASAP: Just complete this easy online application. After completing the application you'll have the option to click through to pay online. We can mail your kit to you ($18), or you can pick one up ($15).

Through a generous arrangement, we can offer tests to those on limited budgets at a reduced price, and a handful of scholarships are available, too. If you can pay full price, thank you, it helps us to offer more tests on scholarship.

Last Chance to pick up a kit: March 12th

Our Electric Car Event is the last chance to get a kit, so don't delay--sign up today! Easy-to-follow instructions are included with the test kit or watch this video. If you have questions, please email us at: contact@saneenergyproject.org  (Please bring exact change when you pick up a kit in person--Thanks!)
